Can I get a Cronus License download for Nav 2016?

Hi;

I have a Demo of 2016 installed on our server and we have been playing with it. The other day I thought I would try and install my 2009R2 License to the Demo 2016 development environment and it let me, to my surprise. What I did not realize was that it stopped the Demo from working. The demo returns an invalid license error.

Since I spent a lot of time setting up some of the data for demo I would prefer to just put the Cronus License file back in.

Anyone know if that is downloadable from somewhere?

Version 5.0 SP1 Moving from 2003 Server to 2012 Server

We have an old server (MS Server 2003 that has been acting up). We are trying to move this application over to a MS Server 2012 and SQL Server 2012. I can get the application to talk to the DB, but I have to do the following each time in order to get it to work, and I need help.

1) I get the following error:

2) I then have to click "OK"

3) Go to Open Database

4) log back in and go tools|License Information = Change

5) Browse out to our fin.fif click open

6) repeat step 3

7) Log back in

8) Now I'm in and can see current DB on the new server...and companies

9) If I close out of it and go back the license doesn't hold up.

10) Is there a reference file that points back to the license file?

POWER BI CUE in NAV 2017 role center always showing the latest publish report

Hi,

 

I have configured the Power BI in NAV 2017 and its always showing the report that has been published latest on Power bi online.

And it has not been selected in POWER BI report selection page also.

I can see the correct report only by refreshing the role center page but if i will open the page again it will show that report again.

First time when you configure for select report,you can see only the selected report.But when you come back again from some other page to home ,i am seeing the latest report published from Power bi desktop that has not been selected in report selection page.

 

I have recorded the steps and fiddler.

In that case you will see the report with id 4e9a10b5-fe9f-4bb2-bf67-f221c62b87e6 that i have not selected but its showing in power bi pane by default.

Spanish new vat SII documentation

NAV Location

Is there a way to stop certain items being able to be receipted in different locations?

Reason being, is we have 2 locations set up, main warehouse for goods in and a reception type location(stationary items etc), but users are raising orders for stationary but setting location as main warehouse not the reception area, can this be defaulted so that certain items are raised form certain locations?

Object renumbering required to bring object in license.

Hey,

I want to renumber objects that is out of license to the object range in the license for one our client.

Can anyone suggest idea\tool to do this quickly? OMA is not in option for now.

NAV 2016 Permissions - Shipping Sales Orders

Hi Guys,

I'm hoping someone can help me out here!

I would like to restrict permissions for users who are shipping sales orders. I would like our customer service team to ship only sales order lines with Type=item.

We have had issues when G/L lines and Item Charge lines have been shipped incorrectly. We would like accounts team to ship these items.

I recorded myself shipping Items and then shipping G/L account lines and it seems that I require the same permissions.

Any solutions?

Saving user Views of list page

I've got two users that open a Contact List page and go to Actions | View | Hierarchy to sort the list by hierarchical parent child structure.

They would like to have the contact list page default to the Hierarchy view so they don't have to manually enable it each time. 

Where in c/side would I be looking to make this default change? 

It might be even better if it can be user specific.

Customer Type Dimension

I would like to create a report that would show the different types of customer we have.  I have created in Microsoft NAV a dimension for customer type that I want all posted invoices to be tagged with. 

I've also set them up as a default dimension but I've realized that invoices being posted in NAV does not have the customer type code that was set up in the default dimension table.  I am not sure

Creating customers using Odata web service (Id 21 - Customer Card) with Postman

Trying to use Postman to create a customer in NAV 2017.  Currently just trying to pass in 3 fields and keep getting the error "An error occurred while processing this request."  Anyone have an example/advice using Postman to test creating data with the NAV Odata services?  I can successfully GET data from my published Odata services no problem.

NAV 2016 performance on SQL 2014

Hi,

Does anybody have issues with performance with NAV 2016 on SQL 2014? We find it really slow for thing such as running native reports (especially item availability report), Jet Reports, Data import/export via Configuration Package.

Maybe our expectations are really high as we have moved over from an IBM iSeries DB2 database where it could transfer thousands of transactions per second. However, importing 10,000 can take over 10 minutes. Our server is running on a SQL 2014 database with win 2012 R2 x64 (48GB RAM, Inet Xeon E5 2.6GHz) with only 20 users.

Surely this is not normal and something can be done to improve performance?

OnValidate field condition

Hi all,

I have a field with 3 options consider Option A,B,C. Now when the field value changes from Option B to C, say I want to display a message and when the field value changes from Option A to C say I want to display some different message or do some other task. So how can I specify the condition in On validate trigger of the field that when field option value changes from B to C something should happen and when it changes from A to C something else has to happen.

Subscription to page triggers from any page with SourceTable empty does not work

Hello all,

I am trying to subscribe to OnOpenPageEvent from page 113 which have SourceTable property empty.

When creating the subscription function the development environment adds a parameter related to a Record 0 because SourceTable is empty on page 113. With this parameter my codeunit does not compile. Then I remove manually the parameter, the function compiles and the subscription appears active on the event subscription page, however my function never runs when I open the page.

Please, could you help me?

Sales Person for Sell to and Bill to

Hi at all ,

there is a standard way to have in sales order ( or invoice or quote) the sales person that is in Sell to ?

(NAV2016) My scenario is:

For the customer AAAAA there is a sales person  1111 , this customer has in Bill to the customer BBBBB.

The customer BBBBB has the sales person 22222.

I would like that when I make a sales order for  AAAAA the sales person be  1111 but NAV fills  with the 2222 ( the sales person of Bill to).

Autorization for changes

Is it possible in the standard Nav 2015 that when one user changes an article or creates a new customer etc, that change needs to be appproved by another user in order to be effective? If so, would you please tell me where I should be looking?

Payment Journal Approval Workflow

Hi,

An Approval workflow has been created for the payment journal, so that an approval is needed before posting lines.

Lines can be sent for approval and also cannot be posted without approval.

But, even with "Record restriction" the Payment Journal line can be edited.

Can anyone shed some light on this ? Am I doing it wrong?

Best hosting options?

HI!

We have a Dynamics Navision 2009 R2 database that we currently are hosting on a local server running Windows Server 2008 STD and Microsoft SQL Server 2008. It's been decided that the database should be ported in some form to a cloud service so that all users can access it from anywhere. Does anyone have any recommendations on cost effective ways of accomplishing this, or already experience something like this and provide suggestions or warnings?

Importing Permissions

Hi,

For example, if I import and apply a permission file with JUST the "READ" permission for a particular table and Permission Set, The table automatically gets all the permissions(Read, Insert, Modify etc.) enabled. 

THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN ON ANOTHER DATABASE.

Any reason as to why it happens in the database i use ? Any settings I should be aware of ?
