Which is the best place to apply sorting,on reports or in "DataItemTableView" property in report dataset?

Hi!
i am displaying some data on reports and applied sorting using the dataset property "DataItemTableView". I want to know that is it the right way or place to apply sorting according to performance perspective? or what if I can apply sorting in RDLC report.?
