Purchasing over Goods In Transit

What is the best way to purchase goods using a GIT Location? We buy everything from our Head Office and we must book it as In-Transit while the goods have not arrived at our location. I've read a lot about using the Transfer Orders but there is not link between the Transfer Order and the original Purchase Order. And the lines of the Transfer Order are entered manually.
